Together, ORCA’s online software CephX and Dentsply Sirona’s imaging systems streamline the cephalometric analysis step of the orthodontic pre-treatment process.

As part of this extended partnership, all Dentsply Sirona clients in Japan purchasing a cephalometric-enabled machine will enjoy CephX’s automated cephalometric tracing and analysis service. This integration between CephX software and Sidexis, Dentsply Sirona’s imaging software, means that cephalometric X-rays taken with Dentsply Sirona’s imaging systems can be uploaded directly from Sidexis to the CephX cloud with the click of a button, for an immediate tracing.

ORCA Dental AI, a provider of dental artificial-intelligence (AI) technologies for automatic diagnostics, analysis and treatment planning, and Planmeca Oy, a leading provider of dental imaging solutions, announced today a new partnership to bring artificial-intelligence products that enable instant teeth segmentation and structure identification to the market for the first time. The new partnership further extends the existing integration between the companies, allowing customers to receive automatic, AI-driven cephalometric analyses.

Following the success of ORCA’s solution for AI-driven cephalometric analysis, the company expanded its scope to additional dental fields and is focusing on building three AI engines for orthodontics, implants and diagnostics.

As part of this new partnership, ORCA’s first solution automates the important process of teeth segmentation in CBCT scans. By automatically segmenting teeth and bone in seconds, ORCA provides information about every tooth, root inclination, impacted tooth position and supernumerary.
